L&M Engineering Limited was proud to be part of the Design/Build team selected to bring the University of Northern British Columbia’s Northern Sports Centre to life—a premier athletic facility located at the gateway to UNBC’s Prince George campus.

As the civil engineering consultant for the project, our team was responsible for the full design and review of all site civil works, including site servicing, grading, and parking lot infrastructure. Our goal was to ensure a seamless integration of function, accessibility, and durability to support this high-use community facility.

Now a 145,000-square-foot hub of health and activity, the Northern Sports Centre features:

• Two indoor soccer fields
• Three full-size basketball courts
• Fitness and training facilities
• An indoor running track
• Squash courts

Strategically positioned at the university’s entrance, this iconic facility not only supports varsity athletics and student recreation, but also serves as a vibrant venue for community events and regional sports development.
